Idea
The structure of a PCB board with its up to 40 layers produces the idea for the Shennan Circuits Campus. The site for the new Campus will get a certain image to provide the corporate architecture of Shennan Circuits. A technologically atmosphere will already generated by the masterplan for the Shennan Campus. An advanced masterplan for an advanced company! All design principles are adopted from the design of a PCB, like lines and angles, drilled holes, layering and interfaces.
Concept strategy
The whole site will be treated like a mulitlayered PCB board. The average height of the buildings is around 20 m. Infrastructure like streets and open space will be cutted out until a functionable working terrain arises.
Factories, dormitories, headquarter, technical buildings and sport & recreation center are located on the campus. Buildings are connected by „tracks“ like lines on a platine.
Concept Masterlayout, Explanation
Functions like factory, headquarter, dormitory are cutted out of the „platine“ in any needed size. Different sizes of the buildings can be choosen according to a future development of the company. „Tracks“ are connecting the buildings like bridges from one facade to the other.
Access
A transparent fence is surrounding the companies location. Access is given by four gates to the Shennan Circuits company. The main entrance is leading via a square to the representative boulevard, which gives visitors a generous overview to the Shennan Circuits Campus.
Land use
Land use and functions are located according to orientation and wind direction.
Campus Masterplan
Already the design of the masterplan gives colleagues and visitors an identification with the company. The design structure provides diverse open spaces for recreation and representation.
Construction rectangular
The masterplan follows an orthogonal grid of 10m and an angle of 45° according to connection lines on a PCB. It keeps the construction costs on a reasonable level, because it is a standard concrete construction. The outer layer is constructed on the same grid, covered by Polycarbonate cladding.
Construction core and outer layer
The core is based on an orthogonal system, the production space is rectangular. Around the production core is an outer layer for infrastructure and storage. This concept will increase the efficiency of work flow and productivity for the company!
